(More customer reviews)I based my purchase of this item on the one glowing review that was up at the time, and the fact that it is cheap, so it would not be an expensive mistake. Well, it was a $13 + shipping mistake. The picture of this antenna looks nice, but what you receive when you order it is a flimsy piece of foam with a picture of blue streaks on it, resting on a plastic stand. It's very small and almost a joke. When I opened it I felt like I had been ripped off.
But I wanted to give it a chance. I thought maybe it looks like a piece of junk, but will work great. Don't judge a book by its cover, etc. OK, so I hooked it up. It brought in 4 channels, some very broken up. I went out and bought (on sale, luckily) a Radio Shack amplified HDTV antenna. Both guys who work there told me it was definitely the best one they sell. It says "technology plus" on the box in small letters. I don't see a model number. It has a UHF loop in the center and two long rabbit ears. You plug it in, and it has gain control, which does a lot in bringing in the TV image. This antenna brought in 12 channels, 11 of them crystal clear, the 12th not bad. I live in the far north area of Chicago.
I haven't had any other antennas to compare these to since TV went digital, but clearly the AN2 Indoor Digital HDTV Antenna is a must-to-avoid.
